Mission Statement
To create a safe and healthy community for present and future generations through the provision of effective, affordable and accountable community substance abuse treatment, prevention education, enforcement and recovery support services.

Goals

By providing effective, affordable and accountable substance abuse treatment for the community at large as well as those individuals that come to us through the channels of law enforcement, we offer an opportunity for family and community reunification. Skills for successful sober living are achieved by weekly treatment reviews, therapeutic substance abuse treatment, random drug-testing and an active sober social activities calendar. We offer the opportunity for addicted individuals to re-integrate into the sober community as productive members of society, avoiding the expensive and most-often unproductive years of  imprisonment. This not only saves taxpayers thousands of dollars, it offers dignity and opportunity for the individual.

History

The Delta County Meth Task Force, now known as Drug Free Delta County, was created in 2006 in response to an explosion in methamphetamine use in Delta County and the significant impact it was having on the community, users, children and local resources. Local judicial and health and human service providers reported that up to 80% of their caseload was methamphetamine-related. The Delta County community recognized the urgent problem and formed the new organization, Meth Free Delta County, which realized a measurable success rate. In 2010, the organization decided to expand and service all forms of substance abuse including clients with alcohol, marijuana, opiates and other addictions, and changed its name to Drug Free Delta County. In 2012, Drug Free Delta County created REACH for individuals seeking sobriety outside of the law. Our organization received the national Howard E. Hughes Award of Excellence and Delta County’s Family Treatment Drug Court Team was honored as team of the year at the Colorado Convening on Children, Youth and Families. Since 2006 and the organization of Drug Free Delta County, we have witnessed hundreds of families reunited, and individuals, ravaged by substance abuse, brought back to life as full-functioning, self-sufficient positive members of our Delta County community. Changing lives, one life at a time, is at the core of Drug Free Delta County’s mission.

Family Reunification, Community Reunification
